11/17/2005: "If it's not one thing..."
I'm so glad yesterday is over. The bad news is, we're not out of the woods with Jessie. We're just so worried about her. She's so tiny, and so sick. We need a turnaround, and darn quick.
We were at a friend's yesterday and their phone stopped working. So when we went back up the mountain, I called the phone company to report the trouble. It was a big kurfuffle, but we had no way of informing our friends about the mix-up, so Dotes went back down the mountain to tell them. Such a sweetie. On his way back, the car got into a fight with a rock, and the rock kicked the car's ass. It had to be towed down the mountain, insurance had to be called, and the upshot is, we have to figure out a way to get down the mountain after the insurance company chimes in, then get a rental car until it's fixed. Which wouldn't be a huge deal if we didn't have a sick puppy. Because how in hell are we going to get her to the vet if she needs to go? It's very scary and horrible, and none of us have been getting any sleep.
I also made her chicken soup yesterday, which she ate. Not much, mind you, and she didn't totally keep it down, but at least she's getting a tiny bit of nutrition. Sorry for the sadness, but I'm so, so scared. And I'm not getting my work done, which just stacks up problems, so I MUST work. Keep good thoughts coming for the midget. She needs them.
