11/29/2005: "Susie Homemaker"

As I type, there's a duck quacking over and over and over again. The puppy has discovered the magic spot on the toy duck, and she clearly loves the sound. A lot. Quack.

I'm going to start baking my Xmas goodies soon. I'll be freezing the cakes and I think I'm going to do brownies this year. It's something I really enjoy. Baking makes me calm, and the smells that fill the house are so comforting. So, the folks around here that we appreciate are getting scarves and goodies. All handmade, which, for anyone who's known me, is so bizarre that it defies understanding. I have always been the least homey person in the world. I've lived in major big cities, never baked, never sewed (I got a D on the only sewing project I did in Home Ec) and never dreamed of knitting. And now I'm Susie Homemaker. Go figure.

Lots of work in the days ahead, focusing on the revisions, trying to make the book as suspenseful and sexy as possible. Also trying hard not to give too many clues to the surprise, but not have it come out of thin air, either. I always said writing should be a challenge. Right?

Don't you just love noise toys Especially since that usually means the "kids" are happy and well

I have been susie homemaker forever! Until I started this new career that is...now I hardly have time to do anything! I am getting creative about crafting on the road though baking is going to be a little more tricky though! I think I am going to make cookie dough and the family is going to work on baking them up during the week while I am gone.

I can't wait to read this new book! It sounds so good!

YAH to the 'D' in home ec. I don't feel so alone. *ggg* Love the smell of baked goods around the house. It uplifts any mood.

I think I got a D in Home Ec too. Or a very low C. I hated sewing. Cooking and baking I can do, but I can't sew. I have problems with even buttons!

And so cute with the squeaky toy! I love puppies.

Glenice, it must be so hard to be on the road so much, especially during the holidays. Good for you to keep such a great attitude about it.
