12/14/2005: "And.....Action!"
Rewrote the scene yesterday, and yeah, it's a whole lot better. I'm so glad. Now I'm facing the ending. Oodles of action and tension and revelations and other good stuff. So while I have the idea of the action in my head, I'm going to be blocking the scene today. Staging it with the held of the DH, so that I make sure everything that needs to happen can happen in the physical world as well as on paper. After that, writing furiously. When I do action sequences, it's all about the pacing and I have to write in a white heat in order to get it all in there. This causes a gazillion typos and errors that have to be corrected, but that's okay because the essence of the scene should be there. Let's all cross our fingers.
I'm quite curious about who you read that writes great action sequences. Anyone in particular? Anyone I can glom onto?
