12/20/2005: "Resolutions? Nah. Focus? Oui."
There's a busy day ahead, but mostly fun stuff so it's okay. We're spreading out the holiday festivities, and today is the first event.
I made this little knitted mouse last night, and it's so cute! I'm sure the cat won't give a damn about the cuteness, as it's filled with catnip, but I love it. So I think it's official - I've become the most boring person in the universe. Knitted cat toys. ::sigh:: Watch, next I'll be knitting dishcloths and those thingies you put on hangers. The kind my aunt used to make when I was a kid, that we'd make fun of the moment she wasn't looking. Yep, sounds like a plan.
I'm thinking about the whole resolution thing, but I'm not gonna this year. I'm focusing on some areas, but that's different. Health - paying more attention to make 2006 healthier than 2005. Better eating, more exercise, some nurturing would be good, too. Work - doing the whole Uber Challenge to get myself into a schedule that works for both my life and my career. Joy - listening to more music, reading more for pleasure, fooling around more with the DH. Yeah, I think that's a good way to approach a new year. You?

I never make resolutions anymore! Too defeating! I am doing good to make it through January! Now, just ideas on what I would like to see through the next 12 months
yeah pretty much the same thing...but not as daunting. My DH wrote the funniest New Years Resolution story a few years ago! I will have to go find it and post it on my site
it was hilarious!
Oh I remember those hanger things
we laughed at them too! Now that I am older I love them
I now realize they help my shirts hang better without giving the shoulders that "pointed" look
But I understand how you feel! I have become my boring mother!!! How depressing is that
have fun with your celebrations
I will be baking cookies this afternoon!!!

Well, for some reason, if I make up a list and say they're resolutions, I freak, but if they're GOALS, I can handle them - probably because I already do weekly and monthly goals, so I know I can manage those
. Mine sound like yours, Jo - some for writing, some for life, something new to learn, and one item from the "things I want to do before I die" list. I actually wrote them up last week and already ordered some of the books, etc. I need to dive in as soon as the kids go back to school in January. If only I could be so efficient with the Christmas wrapping!

I think that sounds like a spendid idea.
