02/01/2006: "Triumph and Tofu"

For those who caught my post at Romancing the Blog - I've queried an agent, gotten a response, and I'm sending out the partial today. Yay me! What about you guys? Did you do something you've been putting off? Did you screw the fear? (hehehe)

As for my brilliant idea about showering/napping yesterday to get brilliant answers to story problems…I showered. I napped. I got nothin.

Oh - check this out - my Dad's turning 80 next year and my sister is treating the whole damn gang of us to a 5 day cruise in December. Whoa! She has no more details, like where it's going or where it's leaving from, but hey - a 5 day cruise! In snowy December!

Speaking of snow…it needs to stop now. I have to get out Friday. Anyone have any clout with the snow gods?

On a completely different topic - I'm making tofu for dinner tonight. This is a first. I've never cooked with tofu before. Very interesting. I found the recipe on Epicuious.com. I'll report back with results…however, if you're a tofu person, and have a faboo recipe (it's firm) that you think I should try, let me know. Because really - clueless here.

I've also started chapter 1. Yeehaw!

Ooooh, the cruise sounds FAB! How much fun will THAT be!!!

No snow here. We're due for rain today. But since the average temp for Jan was like 58 - the highest ever for the area - I'm assuming Feb is really gonna bring down the wrath of the weather gods!

Tofu?!?! That is good for you right never used it before...my neice made something not to long ago and learned that it does need to be completely cooked to taste right. Does that help?

Tofu recipe; chop six ounces of chicken and six ounces of tofu into cubes. Throw the tofu away and try the chicken with yellow curry.

I sent in the paragraphs my agent asked for and they included stories that aren't exactly traditional romance.

Yay, excellent news on the agent query!! *crossing fingers* As for tofu, the only meal I've tried was horrible and no one would eat it. The monsters love tofu, though, so if yours is yummy, let me know! I still have some to use.

The tofu was really good!

If you want the recipe, it's on Epicurious.com and it's called panfried tofu with oriental garlic sauce. Shockingly, we both liked it. Not for every day, perhaps, but it was good. And the sauce would be great with chicken.

And yay for getting stuff out there!!!!!
