Our seven year old Shih-Tzu is Pixel who is a very photogenic dog. Tons of pictures of him have been taken over the years by our son and daughter as well as my husband. Our 11 year-old son named him Pixel since he came from a family of “P” names….Peaches, Poochie, etc. It didn’t hurt that he was born in March 2000 even though he isn’t technically a 21st century canine. We feel he’s close enough and what’s several months between centuries? Also, since living in Florida where it’s hot and humid, we keep Pixel closely cropped. Right after he comes home from the vets (they knock him out and give him a shave-down) he does have spots. He actually sorta looks like a Dalmatian at that point. Pixel is definitely our kids’ dog spending time with them. He sleeps with our son even though our son is now 18. He sits outside our 16 year-old daughter’s door waiting for her to open it. He comes to me to be fed and I am allotted about 30 seconds of petting time before he gets off my lap to go lay on the tile where it’s cool.
