Various recommendations to stuff that I like

Interesting perspective on why storytelling is universal. Also interesting comments that say the article is bushwah. :)

Stupidly wonderful captioning of old X-Files episodes. Some made me spit coffee. The Caps Files
Note: Not dial-up friendly in the least.

People are randomly wonderful and amazing.

If, for some odd reason (living in a place that is unkind to CM lovers) you haven’t watched Criminal Minds, don’t understand the fuss, go here and read the amazing discussion from Elizabeth Bear and cohorts. It will explain, gorgeously, why all writers (and humans) need to watch this amazing show. Find the geeks-with-guns tag and just keep hitting that button and reading. The new season starts Sept. 24th. I’m already sitting in front of the TV with popcorn.

And in the good news department, I have finished and sent in my partial for my new book, Ms. Understood. Yay, me.

I can’t wait to see who was in that truck at the end of last season. Their finale was exceptional.

  2. Patricia says:

Jolie, Great news on your sending in the partial of your new story! When it releases, can’t wait to read it. eHQ.com has just sent my copy of your newest, so, am looking forward to reading that one.

    Sending good thoughts your way…

Me, neither, Jordan. I’m all atwitter. Which is one reason I’m glad this blog has no visuals.

Patricia! I hope you enjoy it. It’s always lovely hearing from you. :)

  4. Willa says:

Don’t get Criminal Minds here in lil ole’ England, well not on my channels, BUT have had the latest Dr Who though! Are you atwitter with that one yet? Lol!

Are your books Ms Match & Ms Understood linked with the storyline or just the titles? Being nosy again!

  5. Jo Leigh says:

Yes, Willa, I’m totally mad for the Doctor. Although we just finished series 4? Yes, I think it’s 4. Now I don’t quite understand what’s next. A few movies instead of a regular series, because of Tennant doing Hamlet? I don’t care because Moffett is at the helm, and he’s written my favorite episodes ever. We’re having a shortened Torchwood, too, which I don’t care for. I need my shot of pretty Captains in Wales.

There’s nothing connecting the Ms. books except the titles. I try to make the titles relevant to the stories, but that’s it. I’m doing three altogether. Ms. Match, Ms. Understood, and then (not quite decided) Ms. Trust or Ms. Judged. I hope no one will be disappointed that they’re not more connected. Ah, well. I think the titles are fun and I hope readers like them.
